How to Love Your Neighbor

"Love your neighbor as you love yourself"; 'tis easier said than done
For we're also told to, above all else, "Look out for Number One."

Society tells us one thing, while Jesus tells us another
So what are we to do, follow the masses, or love each other?

What if we were to love our neighbors as ourselves? What would that mean?
A lot of things would have to change, starting with how strangers are seen

For neighbors consist of more than just the people who live next door
It includes those we choose not to see—those we normally ignore

A neighbor is anyone you know of, in any way in need
Which should be everyone, so how in the world are we to proceed?

To love everyone as yourself, you need to be intentional
Everyday—in everyway—go beyond what's unconventional

Be like Jesus: see each person as a beautiful creation
Seek the Spirit's help, and use your limitless imagination

To show the same love for yourself, to the entire human race
From now on: picture a mirror in place of every person's face
