It goes like this...
...Forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
— Colossians 3:13
Forgiveness is a fragile matter that most don't handle with care
All too often it's withheld, and the act has become far too rare
The world we live in is a mercilessly unforgiving place
Where—not only are grudges held, but anger and hate are embraced
The Bible tells us this: be quick to forgive, as Christ forgave you
Can you forgive without limit, regardless of what others do?
To "Live and Let Live" and "Forgive and Forget" sound easy enough
However, to accomplish such a feat, is a whole lot more tough
For to forgive, is to give up your right to be hurt or upset
And that's tricky, when the wrong that's been done is so hard to forget
But to purposely not forgive, does you absolutely no good
For such resentment prevents you, from loving others as you should
Don't allow bitterness to weigh you down; let God lighten the load
Let the Spirit move you to show the same forgiveness Jesus showed
Once it's forgiveness that's embraced, anger is replaced... with healing
An amazingly freeing, utterly magnificent feeling!
